We conclude our day’s journey by settling into a lodge in Bengkar village.
The nature trail ascend from the riverbed to Sagarmatha National Park office. Walk further to cross over the Hillary bridge, and a steep ascent to Namche Bazar. On the way, we have little rest at Tupi Danda for the first excellent views of Mount Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8,516m.). Namche Bazar is located at an altitude of 11,286 feet, a center point for selling grains, trekking gear, and other necessary stuff. From Bengkar to Namche Hotel distance is 8 kilometers. Check-in hotel, leave your gear, and have a lunch.
Hike the Khumjung village (3,780m/12,402 feet), 3/4 hours
Later Lunch, we initiate the climb to the Syangboche airstrip at 3,780 m for a better view and adopt high altitude. Walk further to get an excellent view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, and Kongde from the hilltop. Moreover, interested hikers can hike the Khumjung village to watch Hillary’s school, and a Hillary hospital, and visit the Khumjung monastery. Khumjung, Everest is a small settlement of Sherpa society.
The Tengboche Monastery trail goes ahead leaving a steep cliff that drops down to the Dudh Kosi. Tourists will have a sweeping view of Ama Dablam (6812m), Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse (7855m), and Tawoche (6501m) in a line. Tengboche Hill offers a good view of sunrise and sunset at Everest and Ama Dablam. Buddhist monastery Tengboche is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Sherpa community, situated at 12,665 feet. Monastery is the largest gompa in the Khumbu region of Nepal.
We trek leaving Tengboche at the backdrop, we descend through a rhododendron forest and enter Deboche village. Crossing a suspension bridge at Imja Khola, we head towards Minlinggo and enter Imjatse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhotse. Dingboche village offers several beautiful lodges where tourists can stay overnight. The distance from Tyangboche to Dingboche village is 9.1 kilometers and takes about six hours.
The onward hiking route to Lobuche is gentle up above the Pheriche village. Along the trail, Travelers can see the panoramic views of the Ama Dablam, Mt.Tawache, Pokalde (5741m), Kongma-Tse (5820m), and the great wall of Nuptse. We stop for lunch at the Dughla guest house which is situated at an altitude of 4,620 meters.
Later Lunch, a long steep ascent towards Lobuche leads you via a memorial garden at the 16,000 feet of Thukla Pass. Take a short break as we always find this a very emotional place to stop and contemplate. There are memorials to western climbers, Sherpas, and several remembering non-climbers too. Often the inscriptions are remarkably individual and one or two even have small personal items embedded into the covering plasterwork. An easy hike about 45 minutes further, you will reach Lobuche guest house.
Comparing other hiking days, today is tough as you need to cover the distance from Lobuche – EBC – Lobuche round trip is 29-kilo meters (14.5-km one way). Leaving our luggage at Lobuche Lodge, we straight walk to Gorek Shep for a quick breakfast. Continue our journey further to the legendary Everest foothill, commonly spoken, etc. It is the most rewarding section of a complete journey. Hike to base camp rapidly winds up through the rocky path at the Khumbu glacier and returns. Along with the day tours, Tourists can see the towering Everest including other outstanding peaks. Mount Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, etc. are clearly visible.
Not only this but also surrounding the base camp there are cairns, prayer flags, and memorial monuments, honoring all the climbers and Sherpas who have died attempting to climb Mt. Everest. This puts the whole thing into perspective truly, the madness of mountaineering and the length people will go to attempt and reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain with no guarantee of return back out alive. After photography and seeing the sights, we return to Lobuche Lodge to stay overnight.
A long day descend trail to get Namche. Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post is available at Pheriche health post where volunteer doctors are providing medical treatment. Tengboche Hill is super popular for its oldest monastery on Everest. From the monastery, sightseers can enjoy the splendid view of Ama Dablam, green hills, and pristine rivers. We reach Namche Bazaar in the late afternoon as the distance from Lobuche to Namche Bazar is 18.4 kilometers.
We trek to Lukla with the same trail as we use on ascend. Total distance from Namche Bazar to Lukla is 13.5-kilo meters which you need to cover. However, it is the last day of our ABC trekking. Upon arrival at Lukla, check in at Buddha Lodge near the airport and get refreshed, and take a rest to see the sights.
We board our early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Tribhuwan Domestic Airport, our representative will receive you to transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, go shopping or request us to discover Kathmandu as a guided trip at an additional cost. Trip finish.

Best season to visit ebc!
The optimal times for hiking to Everest Base Camp are during the pre-monsoon (spring) season from March to May and the post-monsoon (autumn) season from late September to November, offering stable weather and clear skies for a rewarding trekking experience.
While the EBC trek is suitable for tourists of all ages, including children over 5 years old, winter months present challenges with frozen and treacherous trails, making it suitable only for the most adventurous travelers. However, December, particularly around Christmas and New Year, can be a good time to explore the base camp as the weather tends to improve.
From late January to February, the weather is less favorable, with cloudy conditions, snowstorms, and extremely cold temperatures, making it less ideal for hiking due to the increased risk of altitude mountain sickness.

Base Camp Trek Review
Best Trek for fit Tourist
Ammar the owner of the company gave me a great feeling of being in good hands of responding to my all emails quickly. Right after arrival, we met Ammar in his office with the help of one of his colleagues. There were still a lot of constructions at the house so Ammar was quite busy arranging things there. Nevertheless, he made time for me and answered my last questions.
The trek itself was an unforgettable journey to EBC through the heart of Solukhumbu. I climbed Kala Patthar twice: early in the AM to see the sunrise over Everest and later that afternoon hiked in a roundabout way enjoying the views and the changing skies.
Actually, the plan was to cross Chola Pass and go for Gokyo Ri too but unfortunately, the pass was closed due to the huge snowfall. But even without Chola and Gokyo it was my most memorable holiday so far. So I will not hesitate to highly recommend Gokyo Treks & Expeditions. Thank you for this ebc adventure.

The best trip to Everest Base Camp - EBC Rapidly
We had a wonderful time hiking along the Everest foothills with Gokyo Treks Agency. The ebc full board package they provided (guide, porter, hotels, flights) was wonderful. We loved every moment of our trip!
The only thing we would have done differently is schedule an extra day at the base camp. It’s such a beautiful place for our 4/5 days hikes and, it would have been nice to have a day off without hiking in a rush. Thank you! –

EBC Hike with Gokyo Agency
Its our second time in Nepal for ebc trek with Gokyo Treks and Expedition. We were travelling to NEPAL and landed in Kathmandu on 10th of October 2021 for Our ebc trek. Gokyo treks agency booked everything for us like a guide, a porter, Lukla flight tickets and of course Sagarmatha national park trek permits.
As we know landing in Kathmandu without trekking permits is difficult to get my Nepal visa. Thus we have booked everything just before we proceed to Nepal.
Ammar, the agency owner issued our Lukla flight tickets and issued all permits, and sent us via email. We have printed those documents to show in the Kathmandu immigration to get our visa.
As soon as we met Ammar at the airport, he arranged a private transfer to the hotel as it was very important for us.
The trek was tough as it was 9 nights 10 days but completed without any trouble. Our guide Ram was just outstanding as he handle all hotel bookings by Handy prior to we reach the guest houses. And Porter Ganesh was also very friendly.
All in all, Ammar did a great job and we are very happy and promise to be back again for the Langtang trek in 2022 we definitely choose his agency to go again. Thank you and see you next March 2022!

Ebc Hike - Best experience in the Himalayas
This is our 3rd tour with Gokyo Treks Company and we enjoy the itineraries that they offer. This trip ebc was fantastic. The Mountain views and the landscapes were splendid. But the trail reaching at the base camp was not easy because of sleeper and crevasses, snowfall..etc.
Our Guide was Bishnu Panday and 2 porters from Lukla were easy-going and friendly.
Our accommodations at lodges were superb. But sadly on our return from Lukla to Kathmandu flight was canceled due to the cause of bad weather. Ammar made quick contact with the helicopter company and offered us a discounted price for helicopter flights to Kathmandu. Flying in a helicopter to see the last view of Mount Everest was amazing.
Thanks, Ammar and Gokyo Treks, for arranging a great trip.
