Overview

Mount Annapurna North Base Camp Trek is a less-explored, least crowded trail, difficult path, and more pristine mountain trail in the Annapurna territory. The North base camp Annapurna route is an optional trekking plan for those looking for alternate trails in the Annapurna region. Hike at the north base camp adventure route offers the majestic mountains and as well as Kali Gandaki valley view. Furthermore, visitors will have a fantastic adventure experience that is as unique as it is wildly exciting.

As per climbing history, Maurice Herzog assumed leadership of an ambitious expedition into the Himalayas, a brave team striving to conquer the towering apex of Mount Annapurna in 1950. This courageous attempt marked a watershed moment as it heralded the pioneering ascent of an awe-inspiring 8000-meter pinnacle. A great achievement of this moment granted upon the path leading to the Annapurna North Base Camp the distinction of being called the “Maurice Herzog Trail.”

Alternatively, this path is also renowned as the “French North Face Route,” a moniker that resonates with the gallant efforts of a French expeditionary group that would ultimately etch their names in the annals of mountaineering history. Their indomitable spirit culminated in the unprecedented triumph of summiting Mount Annapurna I, an accomplishment that resonated across the globe as an awe-inspiring first.

Furthermore, this trail served as the channel for their exploration of the so far uncharted territory of the North Annapurna Base Camp. It’s a feat that continues to capture the imagination of trekkers and adventurers to this day. Thus, in contemporary times, this route stands proudly promoted as the “North Face of Annapurna Trek,” an alluring odyssey among the grandeur of the Himalayan expanse.

Likewise, the north basecamp trek route is more incredible and interesting in spring as the rhododendron forest turns red, pink, and white with rhododendron flowers. The zone is wealthy in biodiversity, flora, and fauna. In addition, the lucky traveler sees wild lives like musk deer, snow panthers, bears, wild canines, blue sheep, etc. Annapurna North Base Camp Trekking tour is possible to explore at any time throughout the year.

North Annapurna Base Camp Trek Review

North Annapurna Base Camp Hike just superb

October 3, 2019

We met Ammar in 2010 and arranged some hikes for our friends sometimes. In 2019 September, we hike the north Annapurna base camp with a tent trek.

Ammar suggested an optional visit to Kali Gandaki valley taking some extra days but we were tight in our hiking schedule so we descend Pokhara via road-long ride. If you are planning to hike Nepal to achieve a wilderness experience then visit the north base camp Annapurna route.

Our Guide was a Pasang, a local Sherpa guide from Everest who helped us arrange the best hiking gear for camping trips. Ammar, owner of the agency answered all our questions and also arranged everything like booking a hotel in the city, porters, cook, guide, all permits, and Ghasa to Pokhara jeep ride. Once again, thank you, and looking forward to going on another trip with you guys.
